Hi readers,
Feels good to be back blogging again. I wrote here for about 6 months in the beginning of '07 till the first of '08. I still have that blog http://saveapennysavetheworld.blogspot.com . I may at some point blog from there again, but right now I'll work on telling you my experiences in starting up an ebaystore. I guess the right place to start is from the beginning. January of last year while browsing ebay i happened upon a section of ebay titled "grocery coupons". I had been thinking of selling a few things on ebay and was looking at how other people listed their items and such, and when i looked at how people presented these coupons, I said...to myself...Bill you can do that. So an ebay seller was born. Now mind you, you don't "sell" grocery coupons on ebay, that's illegal. What you sell is your time for cutting them out, sorting them, if they need sorting, listing them on ebay, answering any questions the potential buyers might have, putting them in an envelope, and mailing them. Doesn't sound hard at all right? Well..it's not really....cutting isn't hard...counting and getting your wife to recount isn't that hard either..if shes not watching her favorite tv show...ouch...anyway... Setting up your ebay account isn't hard either. If you're like me you'll be back in it a lot, tinkering with settings and such. And the excitement of seeing your first listing , right there..with all the others. Coupons usually have a high rate of selling, they mostly all sell if your add is like most of the rest and doesn't have anything in it to send up warning signals of a scam. So when you get your first bid, well, you'll smile...trust me. And if you've set up a seven day auction(more about length of auctions later) the wait for it to finish can be excruciating. And if you're like me..and want to satisfy your customers, so that they will come back, you'll be really careful with them. You'll try to coddle them, think of what their doubts and fears may be. Ebay is a place where trust is VERY important. Gaining that trust really is the key in whether you are successful in selling on ebay. So when that first sale drops down to "items sold" and it finally lights up with that big dollar sign saying paid, you'll smile again. Trust me, you will. That is when I leave my feedback to my customer usually something like....Fast payment....valued customer ...come back soon..then I add Ships- and the day and date i expect to be able to put it in the mail. Well that is how I started, and I'll be back to tell you more about this stroll down ebay lane. If you have any comments or questions please don't hesitate to ask or comment. I'd love to hear from you. And you can view my ebay store at ebay.com/Trader-Bill-s-Media-and-More .
